Eagles Finish Third at Innisbrook Invite in Florida
Palm Harbor, FL - Reinhardt Men's Golf has another successful tournament in this fall golf season. The team traveled to Florida for the annual Invite at Innisbrook hosted by Dalton State University.
The Eagles finished in third place overall in a twenty-team, stacked tournament with some of the best teams in NAIA Golf, including Keiser University, Ave Maria, and Dalton State, just to name a few. Reinhardt has been very consistent this fall season and has proven itself against the top competition in NAIA Golf. The spring season should be very entertaining for Eagle Golf fans.
Trey Schmidt was the top Eagle, finishing in 7th place overall, shooting +4 over par in his three rounds. His best round was a -2 in his first round on the course. The 2024-25 AAC Freshman of the Year is the leader of this young college golf team that is filled with just juniors, sophomores, and freshmen, so big things can be expected in the years to come with Reinhardt Golf.
Following Schmidt was MJ Hodge, who finished in 19th position overall, shooting +8 over par. He was consistent his entire run, with even par being his best round. Rounding out the five-man squad for the Eagles were Griffin Latimer in 33rd place, Pride Dyer in 42nd place, and Zane May in 56th place.
Next up for the Eagles is a trip to the Bojangles Invite hosted by TWU on Oct 18-19 at The Links at Kahite in Vonore, Tennessee. After this, they will wrap up the fall season at the AAC Preview at Barnsley Gardens in Adairsville, Georgia.
