Reinhardt Wins Big Match Over Life 3-1 With Lights Out Set 2
Marietta, GA – The Reinhardt Eagles Men's Volleyball team traveled to Life University to play AAC opponents the Flying Eagles. The Eagles did a great coming out for set two and played lights out, winning 25-6, with four back-to-back service aces from Rodolfo Biegelmeyer. That dominating set helped the momentum for the Reinhardt Eagles as they won the next two sets to clench the 3-1 win over Life (28-30, 25-6, 25-17, 25-16). This was a great win for the Eagles and now helps them to sit 3rd in the AAC with a 2-2 conference record. Defensively, Alex Sanchez had 16 digs and Biegelmeyer had 3 blocks.
Thoughts from Coach B:
"First, all of the Honor and Glory goes to God win or lose!
Life has had a great start and we honestly didn't play to our game plan. I thought the key to tonight was the end of set one. Yes, the set we lost was a huge part of tonight. That comeback swung the momentum back to us. We were able to make some adjustments and the guys stayed more disciplined. Tonight was the closest we played to what we call "neutral" and I am very proud of the guys for that.
It's great to go 1-0 and get a conference win but our mindset is right back to 0-0 and we will try to go 1-0 again the next time we are blessed enough to step on the court Friday!
Lastly, a huge shoutout to our RU family! We had a good portion of our Women"s Volleyball team, parents, and others there tonight! It was amazing to see that support and love at an away match; it helped the guys a lot!"
