Eagles Were Rolling on Senior Day vs Montreat
Waleska, GA - The Eagles decided to do their Senior Day earlier in the season and they chose a good day to do it as the weather was great and the team played excellently. They picked up two conference wins against the Montreat Cavaliers 12 to 1 in game one and 9 to 0 in game two.
The Eagles honored seniors Lauren Parker and Lauren Woods in their Senior Day celebration between games one and two.
Whitney Shepherd, game one starter, and Ally Andriano, game two starter, both had their stuff going keeping Montreat off the board. Shepherd brings her record to 6-1 this season, which leads the Eagles overall in pitching. Andriano's record moves to 2 and 3 for the season.
Game One
In game one, the floodgates opened up in the third inning as the Eagles would break a 1-1 tie by putting eight runs on the board. A series of hits and mistakes by the Cavaliers let the inning be the difference-maker in the game, which allowed the Eagles to go completely through their lineup once. Ansley Evans and Eryn Lee hit back-to-back doubles to get the scoring started for the Eagles. Taylor Wade, Emily Loveless, and Molly Stevens all singled in the inning to help the Eagles. The score was 9 to 1 after the big outpouring of runs in the third inning.
Reinhardt was able to get three more runs in the bottom of the fourth to push the lead to 12 to 1, which set up Shepherd to finish out the top of the fifth and get the Eagles the game-one win.
