Week 1: AAC Women's Volleyball Players of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. - Kira Rymer of Columbia International is the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Volleyball Attacker of the Week, while Elliott Brock of Bryan and Maria Cordova of Reinhardt are the Defender and Setter of the Week, respectively.
The league announced the awards on Monday.
This is the first edition of the awards for the 2022 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Sept. 5.
AAC Setter of the Week
Maria Cordova - Reinhardt - Junior - Cagaus, Puerto Rico
- Averaged averaged 8.05 assists per game in helping Reinhard to a 1-3 record on the week.
- Recorded 3 matches of 40-plus assists with a high of 44 against Faulkner (Ala.).
- Notched 3 double-doubles on the week.
- Had 153 assists, 56 digs, 22 kills, 6 blocks, and 5 service aces on the week.
- This is her first weekly honor of the season.
AAC Attacker of the Week
Kira Rymer - Columbia International - Junior - China Grove, N.C.
- Helped CIU to a 4-0 record on the week.
- Averaged 4.00 kills per set and posted a .358 hitting percentage on the week.
- Posted 10 or more kills in all 4 matches with a high of 17 against Ave Maria (Fla.).
- Added 12 digs, 7 blocks, and 5 assists on the week.
- This is her first weekly honor of the season.
AAC Defender of the Week
Elliott Brock - Bryan - Sophomore - Cleveland, Tenn.
- Averaged 5.89 digs per set in helping Bryan to a 3-1 record on the week.
- Twice had 30 or more digs in a match with a high of 33 against Ave Maria (Fla.).
- Recorded 112 digs, 19 assists, and 1 kill on the week.
- This is her first weekly honor of the season.
