Waleska, GA - With the bad storms that came through on Friday, the Eagles are playing this series in reverse with a doubleheader on the first day and then a single game on the second day with the series with CIU. Game one was an offensive outpour from the Eagles, which ended up shortening the game to seven innings and the Eagles winning 13 to 2. Game two saw the game a little closer, but the Eagles still won 11 to 5.
Ethan Foley would get the start in game one and he basically shut down the Rams while he was pitching. He was able to pitch six innings and had 8 strikeouts. The Rams only were able to get four runs in those six innings and scored one run. Richard Castro came in the final inning to finish out the game and allowed the final run for the Rams. Castro was able to get out of his inning without giving up a hit, but he did allow three walks which help the Rams score.
The Eagles took the lead early in the game scoring five runs in the bottom of the first. They never looked back from that point and kept putting runs on the board. Tucker Zdunich had a big moment hitting a line-drive home run over the right field fence. This was an important play for the team and Zdunich because his bat will be very much needed as the season moves on and the conference tournament and NAIA playoffs come into play. Zdunich went 2 for 4 in game one and then was perfect 3 for 3 in the second game.
