RU Football Lights Up the Score Board Against the Knights

Laurinburg, NC - Reinhardt Football had their second road game of the season visiting the Knights of St. Andrews and the Eagles were able to walk away with their largest scoring output of the season winning 57 to 0.  The win gives the Eagles their second AAC win of the season with just Point, Union, Kentucky Christian, and Bluefield remaining.

The Eagles did not waste time getting on the board scoring in the first few minutes of the game going up 7-0.  Jerdavian Colbert, who has been a workhorse for Coach Miller's team this year, scored the first touchdown of the game.  Alex Hardy scored the extra point conversion which he did eight times in the game.

The Eagles would dominate from this point on scoring on almost all of their drives. Reinhardt tallied up 451 of total offense while holding the Knights to just 88 total yards.

With the poor field conditions from the overnight rain in North Carolina, the Eagles stuck to a running game to do most of their damage.  Tyress McKey, Japhari Colbert, Luis Morris, and Jerdavian all combined for 233 yards and three touchdowns. It was a game where many got valuable time on the field and were able to contribute to the victory.

Collin Fletcher led all receivers with 2 catches for 80 yards with one touchdown.  This was Fletcher's second game in a row with a touchdown reception.

Defensively, the tackle totals are a little skewed from incomplete stats, however, Kendrick Hawkins led the team with 7 total tackles and he was followed by fellow linebacker Orlando Gandy, Jr with 6 total tackles. Colby Sloan had two fumble recoveries and Riley McKee had an interception in the game.

Next up for Reinhardt is another road game to Point University in West Point, GA.  The Eagles will have a 1 p.m. kick-off in the AAC rivalry game.
