Eagles Hold Johnson Scoreless and Pick Up Their 5th AAC Win

Waleska, GA - Reinhardt men's Soccer shut out the Royals of Johnson University on Saturday afternoon 6-0 to take their record to 7-2-4 overall and 5-2-1 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC).

Leading scorers for the Eagles were Maxime Correia and Rafael Pais, who Both added two goals to their season totals. Both are tied for 5 goals each which leads the team in scoring.

Zachary Smith and Ian Brunet were able to get on the score sheet as well in the game.  Brunet was able to score a goal in the late moments of the game after helping the Eagles' defense hold Johnson to just 7 shots total (3 on goal). Brunet was awarded Coach Ruiz' "Man of the Match" for his efforts.

Brunet plays on the backline along with Raphael Mosyonpuk, Brady Craig, and Ivan Patta, and the group has been a difference-maker in the Eagles this season.  Elijah Clark recorded his 5th shutout for the season and he had 3 saves in this game.

The team honored 10 seniors on the team before the game and went on to silence Johnson in this late AAC season matchup. Maxime Correia, Rafael Pais, Elijah Clark, Garrett Ellis, Carlos Gurrerro, Raphael Mospanyuk, Anthony Robledo, Carlos Ayala-Viera, Andres Jorquera, and Benja Elgueta were all recognized for their service and dedication to Reinhardt University and the Eagles Soccer Program.  Each has contributed and has set the program up for continued success going forward.

Next up for the Eagles will be a home game on Wednesday afternoon vs. UPike.
