Waleska, GA - It was a great weekend of volleyball at the Brown Athletic Center as the Eagles hosted Belmont Abbey and Fort Valley State on Saturday and Emmanuel College on Sunday afternoon. Coach Goodhind has assembled a talented group of athletes that play the game with enjoyment. It was a party atmosphere in the gym as the Eagles came back from losing set one and winning three straight against their NCAA DII opponents. The sets were 25-21 Emmanuel, then 25-22, 25-17, 25-18 for Reinhardt. You can really see this team improving every match they play and individuals are stepping up and becoming leaders.
Coach Goodhind had this to say about the match from Sunday afternoon,
"We continue to work on what we want our culture to be and our 'why?' Today was a good step in that direction. I say that not because we won but because today was these young men being truly together. From the guys on the court to the guys on the bench. They were all together today. Positive plays or negative plays resulted in the same energy.
Emmanuel has a very good volleyball program and that was definitely a big win for the program. On paper, we should lose that match but our players backed up what WE are trying to be. Which is let the coaching staff worry about 'them' and our players worry about 'WE.'
At the end of the day, we just went 1-0 and we will get back in the gym to continue 'the grind!"
To God Goes All The Glory and win or lose I'm thankful!"
