Reinhardt Softball Goes 1-1 On Saturday in Double-Header With Thomas
Waleska, GA – The Reinhardt Softball team hosted a double-header this past Saturday, February 18th, versus the Thomas University Night-Hawks. The Reinhardt Eagles were able to go 1-1 on the day, losing the first game 3-1 and won the second game 11-9. This was great competition for the Eagles as they are about to begin their conference play this upcoming weekend. The Eagles are sitting at 0-0 in the AAC & 4-2 overall. Up next for the Eagles, they will be hosting two double-headers this upcoming weekend. The first one will be on Friday, February 24th, versus Midway at 2pm & 4pm. Then the following day, Saturday, February 25th, the Eagles will be playing their first AAC game versus Union College at 1pm & 3pm.
Game One: Reinhardt 1, Thomas 3
The Eagles struggled getting someone across home plate until the very last inning when Molly Stevens hit a sacrifice fly out to left field, scoring in Alexis Teems. However, Thomas University already had 3 on the board, ultimately clenching this 3-1 win. Ally Andriano was the starting pitcher for the Eagles until Kylie Freije came in and finished out the game.

The Eagles did a great job of responding after the first game loss. Reinhardt was able to come out and score 3 runs the first inning and 5 in the 2nd, and 3 in the 3rd, giving them the lead of 11-2 over the Night-Hawks. No more runs came after that fir the Eagles, but instead the Night-Hawks tried hard to make a comeback, scoring 7 runs towards the end of the game making the score 11-9. The Eagles held them scoreless in the last inning of the game, clenching the win 11-9. Whitney Shepherd pitched majority of the game was able to get 6 strikeouts. Offensively, Kyra Lightner had 3 great hits, going 3 for 4, and had 5 RBIs.
