Eagles’ Dominating Second-Half Clenches 14th Straight AAC Win over TWU

Waleska, GA - The Reinhardt Eagle women's basketball team matched up against #5 AAC opponents Tennessee Wesleyan this past Saturday, January 7th. The TWU Bulldogs controlled the first-half of the match, leading 34-27 at halftime. The Eagles responded to the adversity and came out on fire on offense and defense the second-half. Defensively, holding TWU to 11 points the 3rd quarter and just 3 the 4th. Because of this, Reinhardt took the lead and came out on top 63-48. Summer Cramer was a game-changer for the Eagles, scoring 20 points with four 3-pointers. Other offensive weapons would include Ashley Woodroffe (14 pts.) and Maria Sanchez Ponce (13 pts.). This Reinhardt team played an aggressive game securing 51 total rebounds to TWU's 28. This was a huge win for Reinhardt as they remain the only team in the AAC with an undefeated season. This Reinhardt team is receiving votes in the NAIA Women's Basketball Top 25 Ratings.
Outstanding Performers:
- Summer Cramer led the Eagle offense with a dominating performance of 20 points. Ashley Woodroffe had 14, while Maria Sanchez Ponce had 13 points. Cramer also led in assists with 6.
- Maria Sanchez Ponce and Tarrah Gibson took charge of the boards with Ponce having 11 rebounds and Gibson with 10. Ponce also had 2 blocks on the night, while Gibson added 4 steals.
