Reinhardt Finishes Home Slate With 1-0 Victory

WALESKA, Ga. – A 73rd-minute goal by Adriana Garcia was all the Eagles needed on Wednesday night to slip away from the Rams of Columbia International (S.C.) in a tight, 1-0 victory at home.
With the triumph, Reinhardt (11-5-1, 9-2-1 Appalachian Athletic Conference) continued its winning ways with the club's sixth-consecutive positive outcome – all by shutout.
"I think it's a very good sign that we were able to win on a night when we were not at our best," head coach Andy Kaplan said. "This time of year, getting a positive result is all that counts. I love coaching this team and hope that we will extend our season for a long time."
The hometown team's defense continued to shine as Columbia International was unable to keep the ball for any substantial time, resulting in a shot discrepancy in favor of the Eagles by the count of 20-3.
Reinhardt kept the pressure on the Rams all night with eight shots on-goal and seven corner kicks.
Individually, Adrien Merrilles led the way with six shot attempts, while four additional teammates collected two-or-more shots in the win.
Caroline Johnson made two saves and earned another win after her defense kept things quiet.
The team looks to finish the regular season on a high note when it travels to Bluefield (Va.) on Saturday afternoon in a 1 p.m. clash.
