Offense Shines in 7-0 Shutout of Rams

WALESKA, Ga. – Three goals apiece from the duo of Jasmine Usher and Marta Vicente-Arche highlighted Reinhardt's season finale at home in a 7-0 defeat of Bluefield (Va.) Saturday afternoon inside Ken White Field at University Stadium.
The Eagles' winning ways (11-consecutive victories) have now put them at 11-1 as they look to finish the 2020 campaign on a positive note next week.
"Today was a great win for our program," head coach Andy Kaplan said. "We split the minutes all the way through our roster. Every player competed at a very high level today. Without question, this is the deepest and most talented roster we have ever had at Reinhardt."
Brianna Smotherman found Jasmine Usher in the first 30 seconds as the hometown club pounced on the scoreboard before anyone could blink. The advantage was doubled in the 13th minute compliments of Vicente-Arche finding the back of the net for a 2-0 lead.
Roles were reversed at 13:26, as Smotherman earned a tally from a nice feed from Usher – who would later score again to make it 4-0 less than two minutes later. A double assist on a nice touch play from Elisabeth Dunlap and Smotherman helped Vicente-Arche push the Reinhardt cushion to 5-0 at 24:53.
The lead would help Kaplan empty the bench and watch the entirety of his roster hit the field for Appalachian Athletic Conference play late in the year.
For good measure, the Eagles earned a couple more scores – from Usher (58:48) and Vicente-Arche (61:56) – to finish the contest.
The offense continues to create tons of scoring chances, outshooting Bluefield, 30-1, with 15 attempts on-goal.
Individually, Vicente-Arche had seven shots to lead the squad.
The team wraps up the regular season on Nov. 18 at Milligan (Tenn.) at 2 p.m.
