Eagles Go 1-1 in Final Home Contests

Waleska, GA - (MONTREAT, NC.) The Eagles swept the Cavaliers of Montreat, 3-0 - 25-19, 25-23. 25-17 to improve to 18-10 overall and 14-5 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference.
Reinhardt came out strong in the first stanza with a 4-0 run that turned into a 12-5 start for the Eagles. Montreat did not pull away from the fight as they went on a run of their own, making the score 12-13. This set the standard for the rest of the match, with Reinhardt edging out their opponents throughout a neck and neck competition.

- Jacoby Sims and Katherine Perrin led the offense with 10 kills apiece. While Shelby Glawson followed closely behind with 9 kills and a staggering .615 hitting percentage.
- Taylor Sawdy made her mark on the offense with another double double. Sawdy collected 42 assists and 12 digs on the match.
- Holly Heath continues to lead the defense with 17 digs.
Moving to the final home match of the season agasint Tennessee Southern University (TN.) the Eagles looked to redeem themselves after they faced the Fire Hawks in Bowling Green, Kentucky losing in five sets.
The Eagles took a slow start to the first set as the Fire Hawks took a 9-3 lead. Reinhardt continued to ease up throughout the match as the bench showed no improvements.
"It was good to get another conference win and gave the opportunity to play a non-conference match as well," head coach Brian Goodhind said, "The girls fought and played well in match 1. Offense flowed well, good ball control and defense!
Second match it was discouraging to see us not fight. UT played well to their credit but we did not fight and to do that on our home floor was something I am not happy about. I apologize to our fans and the University for that.
Win or lose I am thankful and all the Glory goes to God."
Tennessee Southern at Reinhardt (L, 0-3)
- Kaitlyn Rieke and Jacoby Sims finished the match with 6 kills. While Shelby Glawson followed close behind with 5 kills hitting 0.444%.
- Holly Heath stayed strong in the backline with 11 digs with Sophia Graziano adding 10 digs to the team total of 49.
- Taylor Sawdy paced the offense with 24 assists.
This tri-match completed the home series play for the Eagles as they gear up to play away at Truett McConnell on Wednesday next week. They are currently 18-11 overall and 14-5 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference going into that match.
