RU WVB Takes Revenge Over TMU To Earn The 3-0 SWEEP

Waleska, GA - The Reinhardt women's volleyball team played hosted Truett-McConnell on Tuesday night and earned the revenge sweep 3-0 over the Bears (3-0; 25-19, 25-18, 25-7).

 A month and a half ago, Reinhardt played TMU in the AAC opener and lost in three sets. Tonight, Reinhardt took revenge and played lights out to win three straight. The Eagles offense stayed on top throughout the entirety of the match, totaling 49 kills and hit a .404. In fact, all over Reinhardt's offensive weapons hit over a .300, with 3 players hitting over a .400. Leading the way was Faith Breitbarth who had 19 kills on the match to hit a.429.Another key stat to mention is RU Libero, Sarah Sweet, recorded her 1000th career dig in the first set of the match, ended the game with 23 total. 

 As regular season is coming to an end, this win was a huge one for RU. They are now 18-5 overall and are 12-4 in conference play. The Eagles will be traveling this upcoming Saturday, to play the St. Andrews Knights at 11am.

"I just want to say thank you to my volleyball program, this men and women's team, plus my staff for all the support they give me. They have no idea the impact they truly make. It's not easy fighting this terminal brain cancer and I know I'm still out there on that sideline because of them. I don't take days like today for granted. To God goes all the glory and I'm very thankful.

TMU has the best team they have had since I've been at RU and we needed to play our best match of the season so far to pull out a W versus a good team like them. Credit to our girls for their preparation for tonight's match and their execution. They had their best offensive match hitting over .400 as a team against a very solid TMU defense. Our block and defense was much better this match then the last time we played them. Shoutout to Sarah Sweet for getting her 1,000th dig during tonight's match!

• Faith Breitbarth finished the night with a whopping 19 kills, while Katherine Perrin had 11.
• Ashlynn Barnes had a great night setting her hitters up for success, totaling 42 assists. Barnes also added 9 digs and 3 service aces.
• Sarah Sweet had the squad high in digs with 23, while also recording her 1000^th career dig.
• Maria Piliposyans led in blocks with 4.
