Waleska, GA – The Reinhardt women's volleyball team had their home conference-opener on Thursday night against the Truett-McConnell Bears. The Eagles walked away successfully, claiming the win 3-1 (25-18, 24-26, 25-16, 25-20). The Eagles now sit with an AAC record of 1-0 and are 4-4 overall.
The Eagles had control throughout the entirety of the match, showing for it in the stat-report. Reinhardt ultimately totaled 65 kills, 96 digs, 61 assists, 5 aces, and 4 blocks.
RU's Giulia Julve, a international from Spain, has proved herself time and time again this season, putting up an impressive performance consistently. Julve ended the match with a double-double, recording 14 kills (.333) and 13 digs. Another Eagle to shout-out would be Jenna Smith, who is one of RU's biggest offensive threats, put up 19 total kills to hit a .245. Ashlynn Barnes was the winning setter, totaling 55 assists.
