Eagles Face Setback Against Barons at Home
Waleska, GA - In a midweek out-of-conference clash, Reinhardt Baseball suffered a 5-1 defeat at home against the Brewton-Parker Barons. The game saw the Barons taking full advantage of an error by the Eagles, scoring three crucial runs in the 4th inning, which significantly shifted the momentum.
The offense could never gain any traction in the game as it stranded eleven base runners during the game. There were several close moments where the ball traveled to the fence with men on the bases, but it was just not enough to get out of the park. The Barons outfielders ran down any ball that appeared to have a chance to leave the field
Barry Eiseman made a notable contribution by scoring the lone run for the Eagles. Dryden Howse was a bright spot for Reinhardt, going 2-for-4 at the plate and earning an RBI. Despite these efforts, the Eagles couldn't overcome the early deficit provided by Brewton-Parker's robust fourth-inning performance.
Logan Lynch, the starting pitcher for Reinhardt, faced a challenging day on the mound. In total, the Eagles went through five pitchers with Hunter Paulsen, Brock Weiss, Brent Turley, and Ryan Mahoney all seeing action on the mound. Each had good moments recording a few strikeouts, but in all - it was just not the Eagles' day as a team. Paulsen was a bright spot for the Eagles as he would throw two innings and not allow a hit. He did give up one run and had three walks, but in all - it was a good outing for Paulsen.
