Burton Coaches Final Game for the Eagles
Waleska, GA - Coach Jonathan Burton coached his final baseball game today after seventeen years in the dugout as an NAIA head coach. He will turn in his ball cap to take on the new role as the Executive Director of Athletics for Reinhardt University.
Over his seventeen years, Coach Burton accumulated 588 total wins, 3 World Series appearances, 5 conference championships, and was named Coach of the Year six times in his tenure.
His collegiate coaching career started at Trevecca Nazarene, where he coached from 2009 - 2011. He then moved to Lindsey Wilson College in Kentucky to coach the Blue Raiders. He coached Lindsey Wilson from 2012 - 2018. After Lindsey Wilson, Burton was hired to take over the baseball program at Reinhardt University. He led the Blue Raiders to back-to-back appearances in the NAIA World Series, and he did it again in the 2024 season for the Eagles. 2024 was the most successful season in Reinhardt Baseball history, where the team finished in third place in the 2024 NAIA World Series.
