The Eagles Face Off Against UC Patriots in AAC Championship
Williamsburg, KY - In a heart-stopping AAC Championship showdown, the Reinhardt University women's lacrosse team faced off against the Cumberlands Patriots on Saturday afternoon, at the UC Lacrosse Complex in Williamsburg, KY. The intense battle concluded with a narrow 11-10 overtime defeat for the Eagles, despite a strong team performance.
Halfway through the event, the Eagles trailed with a score of 8-5 against Cumberlands. The match saw robust contributions from Brinley Christiansen, who scored three goals, and supportive efforts from Lainey Byrne and Hannah Peace, each netting two. Single goals came from Brooklyn Hill, Emma Perritte, and Lawna Henry, illustrating a collaborative offensive effort. Reinhardt's defense was spearheaded by goalkeeper Madison Hasty, who made 8 saves.
The assists were well distributed among the Eagles. Kelsey Sowa, Brooklyn Hill, and Emma Perritte set up their teammates superbly, contributing to the Reinhardt scoreline. Special mention goes to Angelina Ruiz, who secured 4 groundballs and caused 2 turnovers, along with KC Bragg and Brooke Dawdy, who each managed 2 caused turnovers.
