Eagles Get 5th AAC Win of the Season at Montreat

Montreat, NC – The Reinhardt women's soccer team traveled to play Montreat College to earn their sixth AAC win to maintain their perfect conference record.

 The first and only goal of the game was an own goal by the Montreat Cavaliers to give Reinhardt the one-goal advantage in the 12^th minute. RU's Madeline Myers dribbled the ball down the right side of the field to then shoot the ball towards the goal. Montreat's goalie was able to get her hands on it to push the ball out in front of the goal line, then another Cavalier player tried to get a foot on it to clear it out but the ball then bounced off her foot and back into the net. 

 Montreat came out pretty aggressively but the own goal seemed to have shooken them up a bit so Reinhardt did maintain control throughout the entirety of the match with 14 shots to Montreat's 5. The Eagles are now sitting with a 6-4 record and remain undefeated in conference play at 6-0. 

 The next game for Reinhardt was supposed to be this upcoming Saturday at home but Kentucky Christian decided to forfeit to give RU the win. The, the following week, will be an important matchup versus Truett-McConnell, the only other AAC team who is undefeated as well. This game will be played at TMU on Wednesday at 7:30pm.
