Barbourville, KY. - The Reinhardt University women's soccer team triumphed over the Union Commonwealth Bulldogs with a final score of 2-1 in a closely contested AAC conference soccer game on Saturday night, at Williamson Stadium.
Controlling the game from the start, the women's team of Reinhardt took an early lead. Haley Sturla, assisted by Sarah Taylor, found the back of the net at 18:34, putting the Eagles ahead. The halftime score reflected the Eagles' advantage with a 1-0 lead. Reagan Horton, the Eagles' goalie, played a significant role, making crucial saves to maintain the lead.
The second half saw increased competition as Olivia Bartlett of Union Commonwealth leveled the score with a penalty kick at 57:49. The tension continued until Haley Sturla, once again showcasing her skill, scored her second goal of the night at 82:07 with an assist from Sophie Lopez Pinilla.
